Legend Rare Coin Auctions Market Report March 10, 2017

On Friday afternoon, we posted the March Premier Session, and by the end of the weekend we had several dozen bidders already placing strong bids on many of the coins. The sale features the first selections of JK’s Mirror Collection, a fresh to the market collection of mostly Franklin half dollars (and other high end more modern issues) that will be offered among the next several LRCA sales. Keep an eye out for them.

Our team is still in the mid-Winter ANA in Orlando working with consignors for our April Premier Session and May Regency auction. We will provide more details about the show and what we picked up there next week.

With about two weeks to go before we are at the consignment deadline for our May Regency Auction, we can already tell this is going to be a great sale. Aside from the aforementioned anchor consignments: Northern Lights, Bob Simpson, JK’s Mirror and Linda Collections; we also have many individual rarities consigned. On Monday, LRCA was consigned a very rare and important highlight for the May Regency Auction, a $20 1883 PCGS PR65 DCAM CAC. No double eagles were struck in the Philadelphia mint for circulation, so the only Philly coins available are the few survivors of the proof mintage, of which perhaps 15 coins exist. This GEM is among the finest known to exist. The last one to sell was two years ago, realizing $282,000. This is just one of many gold highlights in the sale. There is still time left to consign alongside this major gold rarity, contact us today! Other highlights include:
